Caution urged after two rabid bats found in Snow Hill - Delmarva Daily Times(Natural Pet Health)

SNOW HILL — Homeowners are being urged to report any contact with bats or other potentially rabid animals to Worcester County Health Department after two bats found in two separate Snow Hill homes earlier this month tested positive for rabies. Janet Tull, rabies coordinator for the Worcester County Environmental Health Department, said the bats were found July 10 and July 11. Tull urged people to ensure that children do not pick up any bats or wild mammals that enter into indoor or outdoor living spaces, to bat-proof homes by making sure windows, screens and chimney caps are closed, and to always have household pets vaccinated. Contact the Worcester County Health Department about abnormal bat behavior or another wild animal at 410-641-9559. Read More
